Nutbutton Inc. Presents “GET IN THE CAR”: Robbie Love Turns the Independent Music Industry Struggle Into a Bold, Noir-Inspired Short Film
Independent artists face an increasingly challenging fight for attention in a crowded music industry.
With “GET IN THE CAR,” singer, songwriter and storyteller Robbie Love turns that struggle into a creative short film that combines artificial intelligence, visual storytelling and a satirical look at the realities of navigating the independent music business.
Presented by Nutbutton Inc., an independent record label and creative entertainment company founded by acclaimed musician and producer Juewett Bostick, “GET IN THE CAR” is a short film from Robbie Love’s Just Robbie EP project.
Scheduled for release in November 2026, the film uses a noir-inspired parody to explore the tension between creative vision, industry influence and the determination to maintain control of one's work.
Through an imaginative approach to filmmaking, the project demonstrates how independent artists and creative teams can use emerging technology and innovative strategies to extend the reach of a music project beyond the recording studio.
The film centers on a late-night confrontation between an intimidating music executive, played by Jack Rafferty, and Kim Thick, the social media strategist behind the Robbie Love campaign.
As the executive attempts to pressure Kim into surrendering creative control, she remains calm, composed and firm in her position.
The contrast between his volatile approach and her steady confidence creates an entertaining exchange while highlighting the power dynamics that can shape an independent artist's journey.
The result is a sharp, stylish and satirical look at the challenges of protecting creative vision in the music business.
When Music Meets Film and Technology
“GET IN THE CAR” takes the story of independent music beyond the traditional recording and promotional process.
By combining music, artificial intelligence and cinematic storytelling, Robbie Love and Nutbutton Inc. explore new ways to engage audiences and bring a creative project to life.
The film also reflects the changing landscape of independent entertainment, where artists and creative teams are finding innovative ways to develop content, connect with audiences and maintain control of their work.
With its November 2026 release, “GET IN THE CAR” introduces another creative dimension to Robbie Love’s Just Robbie project.
